Amateur Guerrilla Marketing Hits All Live News Programs Last Night
Truly, this is Creativity with Purpose. A business owner from Dublin drove his truck in front of the outside broadcast units of all three national news programs last night.
The angle didn’t suit him on TV3’s 5.30pm news, but his cortege-speed driving (in a continuous loop) worked splendidly on both the 6 and 9 news on RTE. He then got a slot on Ray D’Arcy’s Today FM radio show this morning as a further plug.
Given our emmigration statistics, you would think that his business - shipping personal effects - would be booming, but apparently he’s seen a slump since Ireland’s eastern European migrants returned home in recent years.
What would you do to get your brand on telly - for free?

Irish government sells Ireland as an innovation hub
This is part of the campaign currently running in the US from the IDA - the inward investment body the Irish government uses to sell Ireland as a base for international business.
You can see the IDA campaign site here, read a New York Times piece on the campaign here, and see one of the ads (via the NYT site) here.
Thanks to @marklittlenews for the find.
So - what do our international readers think? Does this make you think differently about Ireland? Do you think we can live up to this positioning?
