And they're off! «
In a manner that was (sadly but predictably) neither creative nor purposeful, the Irish election has finally been called.
We had fun in the recent by-election looking at political communications, and timing who got their election posters up first.
Who will win the race to the lamp-post this time? Post your pics here!

Update!
It looks like Frank Feighan (Fine Gael, Roscommon South-Leitrim) was the first out of the blocks - at least with a photographer convenient to witness the momentous occasion:
Of course, what he (and we) forgot is that campaign posters can’t legally be displayed until 30 days before the election. So despite getting coverage for this shot in both the Irish Times and the Irish Independent, the online media (The Journal.ie and Politics.ie) were quick to point out that he was actually breaking the law by hanging the poster so soon.
Given the fast-changing political news, this premature poster could soon become legitimate as the election date moves ever-closer…
